Exploring a Community of Practice:
How can development and humanitarian organisations use Generative AI to its full potential to support the delivery of development impact?

🗓️ Wednesday 27th November, 2pm UK time
📍 Online: a Teams link will be provided
🎟 Free to attend. Register your interest here.

Join us for a 60 minute online exploration of how Generative AI and Large Language Models can revolutionise how we process knowledge, conduct analysis, and transform learning within the international development and humanitarian sectors.

We can all see that AI is everywhere. Development organisations, innovators, and donors are constantly seeking new ways to improve how we work, collaborate, and make an impact. One of the most exciting opportunities in this space is how the use of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) can revolutionise how we process knowledge, conduct analysis, and transform learning within the international development and humanitarian sectors. With that vision in mind, we would like to explore the current landscape, the opportunities and the barriers to the uptake of Generative AI in the development sector.

This event will provide a platform to connect individuals and organisations committed to exploring how the evolution of generative AI can be used to help as we tackle the most pressing challenges in global development. We will begin to explore how a community of practice might support this group.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with peers across the development sector.

  • Be part of the learning that’s transforming the way international development organisations do work.

  • Join us to shape the future of AI in development.

  • Consider how a community of practice might bring value to your work

Introducing LLMs for Development

International development organisations both publish and fund the publishing of tens of thousands of documents every year. But most people working in the sector only have the time to read a tiny fraction of the documents that are potentially relevant to their work. How can we make better use of the resources we have available?

This pilot explores how a Large Language Model can help international development professionals do their work by making it easier to use knowledge stored in the vast number of publicly available published documents.
