Submissions Open - Climate Finance Tech CoLab

We’re looking for a partner to help us explore systemic approaches to unlocking the potential of technology to scale and localise climate finance and carbon markets in LMICs

Deadline for applications: November 20, 2024; 11:59am (noon) UK time

The maximum available budget is £50,000 GBP

In partnership with the Frontier Tech Hub, the FCDO are exploring systemic approaches to unlocking the potential of technology to scale and localise climate finance and carbon markets in LMICs. Following the CoLab method, this scoping study is a short collaborative research and programme design exercise that will take a systemic approach to understanding the potential of technology in localising and unlocking scale for climate finance and carbon markets in LMICs. This requires looking beyond optimising isolated solutions and towards creating a cohesive system in which finance, policy, technology, and local engagement work in concert to support resilient, scalable, and community-centred climate tech solutions.

  • We will define a future system for unlocking scale for climate finance and carbon markets and ensuring their localisation; work backwards from this future to understand systems entry points today; and working closely with FCDO, identify the potential role of FCDO and the FT hub in making this future possible.

  • Convening relevant ecosystem stakeholders, we will then seek to validate the FT Hub and FCDO’s entry point(s).

  • Finally, we will scope a roadmap of potential interventions for FT Hub to reach this better future and build a value proposition / design for a future piece of work sitting under the FT Hub.

This work will require working iteratively and in close collaboration with the FT Hub and FCDO.

The scoping will run from November 2024 to March 2025.
