Submissions Open - Briefing Document on delivering AR/VR technologies within the International Criminal Court

The Frontier Tech Hub is exploring how AR/VR tools could be integrated into the International Criminal Courts (ICC) workflows and is seeking a consultant to model indicative technical, financial, and human resource requirements for scaling and sustaining AR/VR tools across different ICC use-cases.

Deadline for applications: 7th February at 18:00 UK time

Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) technologies have emerged as potential tools for enhancing courtroom processes, empowering survivors, and supporting evidence presentation. A recent pilot project with the Frontier Tech Hub and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) explored the use of AR/VR tools within the International Criminal Court (ICC), generating significant insights into their feasibility and impact.

The Frontier Tech Hub and FCDO have developed expertise in understanding how these tools could be embedded into the ICC’s workflows. Now, a briefing document is required to demonstrate feasibility and provide the ICC with a clear understanding of future AR/VR applications, resourcing needs, and scalability considerations.

The FT Hub seeks to commission a briefing document that will serve as a guide for ICC decision-makers as they evaluate the opportunities and costs of AR/VR uses cases including approaches to testing future potential use-cases, or where extended reality tools can be considered mature enough to commission useable augmented or virtual reality tools.

We are seeking an experienced consultant with knowledge of ARVR software and service providers to model indicative technical, financial, and human resource requirements for scaling and sustaining AR/VR tools across different ICC use-cases.
